I just saw a product announcement that breaks out the thunderbolt port to two HDMI ports….think it was apple branded, so maybe look into that.

You -should- be able to set it to ‘non controllable device’, press play on deck/camera, and hit capture now.

set in and out of the affected area on your timeline, then export —> audio to aiff. Clean it up, save, and re-import the new file.
Noise print/reduce is my biggest hope for FCP X.

Did you have any other projects open when you imported the footage? If so, you may have accidently forgot to change the logging bin location, and so all the media is associated with some other project. Check ALL your recent project scratch folders, and see if the footage is in there.

Could be bad sequence/project. Create new project and sequence. Copy your entire timeline, and paste into the the new sequence. Copy the whole bin, except for your main sequence, and paste into new project. Close old project, and test things out.

Most will tell you the get the best (all-round balanced) system you can afford, but I would go for more processor now vs. RAM….You can’t upgrade your processor after you buy it.

2 Things: Make sure, in the motion tab, the position coordinates are whole, even numbers. Second, are you sure you fully rendered?

Any of you run iStat on your computer? I’ve never seen my CPU be used to near its capacity when rendering….but my RAM usage will fill up.
That being said….go for the fastest processor you can afford right now, with the minimum amount of RAM you need to run. You can easily buy and add more RAM down the road, but you can’t buy a new processor.
