One quick question. I plugged in the expression into the Position (of 3D text layer) and it gave me an error:
“No matching closing brace found. Expression disabled. Error occurred at line 1.”
My Position/Rotation/Orientation coordinates are all at 0,0,0.

    Yer a peach!

    Yowza!
That is a lot of good information.
I’ll try it out. Thank you so much.

    Thanks for the quick response!
I did get as far as creating the layers, having them share an anchor point in “the middle” and distributing them around that.
Unfortunately, the Auto-Orient towards camera doesn’t seem to do anything. Is there another way to keep the text always facing forward? You would think that “orient towards camera” would be the easy answer, I’m not sure why it doesn’t work. (I haven’t been working with nulls, maybe I’ll try that).

    Hi,
Just reading your posts in the archives. I’ve been having the same FCP “choke” problem. When you finally had success, was is using 1920×1080 or 1440×1080? What was your Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square or 1.33? Do you think that rendering out in Animation or HDV made the difference? Also, how ’bout the compression setting for the FCP sequence? Have you tried the new Apple ProRes? What’s the best Seq settings? What’s your favorite color? (Sorry…got carried away with all those questions in a row).
    Thanks!

    Hey,
I have a similar post to Jerry down below. Having problems with the “plug-in” also.
    Here’s my other post:

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the Project Files. I thought it was a plug in, but it’s a Preset, yes? I dropped in the preset and opened your file. The Awesome3D Comp opens and shows the effect with parameters and everything. However in the Effect Controls it says “Missing: PS: 3D Shape Extruder” and when I drag the preset onto my own shape, the parameters do nothing. Is there another file I have to drag? I’m on a Mac running AE CS3. (Looks like there’s another user having similar problems on this forum too.)

    Hey,
That HLS noise was the ticket!!! I tried to do the color gradient thingy, but because it was just white on black, it didn’t help much (I tried to put some gray in there, but nothin’ helped).
    Anyooo, problem solved! Thanks!

This tip is a LIFESAVER! Thanks.
Question: if my issue is crashing while rendering, is it the MAXIMUN MEMORY USAGE pref or the MAXIMUM RAM CACHE SIZE pref the more important one to tweak? Also, how is it possible to set the Max Memory Usage above 100% and why would you be able to do it?
