November 8, 2007 at 11:34 amYou could use wiggle to do it along with some bad TV effect and some opacity.

November 8, 2007 at 1:38 pmI saw a tutorial about that a few years back. I can’t remember who made it. Try a search here on the Cow.

heey, what you could do is precompose your image and all your effects, distortions and then play with opacity or transfer mode options / blending modes of that precomposed layer so that you effect all your stuff, image, distortion etc.
if you search on google for “hologram” “after effects” you find alot of stuff.

November 8, 2007 at 4:04 pmI can tell you that you’ll want to use an additive blend mode on your pre-comp. Probably ‘Screen’ if you’re not working in a linearized color profile, I like ‘Add’ but it sometimes blows things out.
That said, AE has a couple of animation presets that can get you started on a look. Try searching the animation presets for TV.
