    Hi there,
I just saw the tutorial on CE Shape extruder,…Amazing!!
I am having problems installing the CE.
I’m on windows and I installed without the Visual Basic 6 Runtime Libraries.
When I installed I had the folders(Shape Extruder, pscei)in a location different from the After Fx plug-ins and it gave me a message after installation(5 invalid procedures).
Then I moved the preset in the Aft fx preset folder.
The Shape Extruder is working but everytime I reset the values in the effect control window it lost the expression.
How can I repair the installation?
Do i need to do something with the xlm file(shape extruder folder) or with the zlib.dll(pscei folder)?

Sorry to be a bit long explaning..

    Hey,
I have a similar post to Jerry down below. Having problems with the “plug-in” also.
    Here’s my other post:

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the Project Files. I thought it was a plug in, but it’s a Preset, yes? I dropped in the preset and opened your file. The Awesome3D Comp opens and shows the effect with parameters and everything. However in the Effect Controls it says “Missing: PS: 3D Shape Extruder” and when I drag the preset onto my own shape, the parameters do nothing. Is there another file I have to drag? I’m on a Mac running AE CS3. (Looks like there’s another user having similar problems on this forum too.)

    Dear friends!

I’m very sorry that you’re having problems using my preset. And yes… it is a preset indeed, just tweaked up a little bit.

Due to bandwidth overusage I had to shut my site down. You can read all about it on https://maltaannon.com/

But I’ve left one link opened for you, and this is it.
    https://maltaannon.com/what-customeffects-are/

It should explain everything. If you’re a Windows user make sure to go to the website and download the CustomEffect Installer. If the application will run, it means you don’t need VB6 runtimes. I guess that anyone who is using a system that meets AE requirements doesn’t need to download those. I left the link just in case.

If the preset says “Missing” when dropped don’t worry about it. It still works. The XML file is just for that (for hiding the “Missing” information).

The reason why controls doesn’t work after dragging the Preset is that the layer you drop it on needs to be modified slightly. Make sure to watch the tutorial and you’ll see what I mean.

I really suggest reading https://maltaannon.com/what-customeffects-are/ page, since I believe I’ve explained everything there.

Stay tuned. More tutorials are coming as soon as I’ll bring the site back online, which should be in no time I hope.

Take care! I’m glad you like my work!
    All the best!
