Hi Mike:
No. Vegas 12 doesn’t give that option. It only has AC3. I rendered PCM instead and all uploaded well in DVDA. I prepared the file for burning, but now it’s reading that my blank Blu ray -R is in read only status. How could that be, since it is a recordable?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Debbie

I’ll stick with what worked before, which is what you suggested, rendering with DVDA settings in MPEG2/AC3 for DVD.
Many thanks,

What a relief. I thought I was in the twilight zone. I rendered again and uploaded with the proper DVDA blu ray settings and all picked up well. Now I’ll see if burning will be as smooth.
Thank you so much.

Thank you so much. I’ll try it now.

Hi John:
Thank you for this post. Could I use this rendered file to create a regular DVD as well, even though the setting is for Blu ray?
Many thanks,

So I would first render it with the settings I posted before, MPEG2 1440×1080 and AC3, then in DVDA burn it as an ISO, then burn the ISO to blu ray. I just want to be clear on the process.
Also when I upload it to DVDA as a blu ray setting the audio levels move. My dialogue, music and sound effects are thrown and I don’t understand why. Places in Sony that were loud is now very low in DVDA with the blu ray settings. The other problem is that it compresses my 20GB file to a 6GB, which may explain why there is a change in my audio.
Many thanks,
Debbie

I use the setting for MainConcept MPEG2 Blu ray 1440×1080 24P and Dolby AC3. After it renders I upload it into DVDA which is fine, accept that it compresses the file a great deal and won’t allow me to burn blu ray. It reads that I have a DVD in the drive.

I have 156 tracks that renders to stereo. I posted an earlier question regarding my blu ray not burning, and it was suggested to maybe use Wave64 as an alternative. I had rendered AC3 on an earlier version of my edit, but for some reason, DVDA is not reading my disc as a blu ray and compresses my file from 20GB to 6GB. I don’t understand why I can’t upload the full 20GB. I am still working it out. Well, not really! I went back into the project and started fiddling around with the audio again. I just finished, and will try rendering and burning it again.
Many thanks for responding.

Hi Mark:
Thank you so much this. I will try it. I’m happy to know that I could render 5.1 even though I didn’t mix 5.1.
DVDA won’t pick up the true GB of the file. It automatically compresses it. I’m wondering if that is also why the audio was not balanced. My file is a 20GB when rendered using the Blu ray settings. DVDA picks up 6GB when I open it in there.
Many thanks,
Debbie
