Hi Mark:

Thank you so much. I have a question. What do you do when the sound levels are too low? My experience is that some of the sound is low, while in other parts of the film is too loud. When I play everything in Sony, all levels are just where I set them. I don’t know how to gauge this because I pink noised my monitor and am basing my sound levels on what I hear in Sony. It’s a large file which takes up to 6 hours to render when I use the Blu ray settings, which can be quite discouraging.

Any advise?

Mark, I will check my device properties to see what my computer supports. Yes, it’s a completed film. I do have something small; my trailer that I can try to burn. It may be worth the loss of one disc to see if this is a technical issue or the disc. My film size reads 20.0G, so this is very large. The BD-R disc holds up to 25G.

Hi Mark and Mike:

I am using BD-R, not the RE. Mine is a recordable; not a rewritable. Should there be a difference when it comes to burning? I can’t find any RE’s here in North Carolina; Best Buy, Staples, Radio Shack. Nowhere! I may need to order it, but I need it asap.

Mike, my computer is only 3 years old, and it has Blu ray burning capability. This is why I am confused as to why DVD Architect is not picking up that a Blu Ray disc has been inserted. It asks me to insert a writable disc.

Hi Mark:

I have not been able to render Blu ray as of yet. I rendered the blu ray settings and am trying out DVD Architect. Architect is not picking up that I have a Blu ray disc; it keeps reading that it is a regular disc and there is not enough memory to burn it. I tried to burn last night, and it took almost an hour, then nothing was on the Blu Ray disc. I don’t know what it was doing.

As far as Sony, it keeps asking me for a writable disc. I’m wondering if it means rewritable. As mentioned I am using BD -R.

I have the Asus Desktop which has a Bluray burner. I haven’t learned how to use it yet, but I do have Nero Video that I am trying to use currently to burn the file to Bluray. No success yet.

Mark, do you render audio separately as well?

I have seen that prompt yet. Maybe, because I put in a Bluray disc. Not sure. Right now, I’ve given up on using my computer’s Bluray burner, and am using Nero Video. I imported the video to Nero, and it’s playing video and now sound. New challenge.

Hi Steve:

Not exactly sure. They are brand new. I just purchased them. I am trying something else to see if it is the disc. I am currently rendering the project for Blu Ray, then I am going to attempt to burn it on the blu ray disc. For some reason, Sony is not picking up that the disc is writable. When I look on my hard drive, it reads that the disc is a BD – R, so it is reading ok everywhere other than Sony.

I made a discovery yesterday. Someone sent me a sample of an MXF file and I rendered it and some of the resolution was lost. Then I downloaded a free trial of a converter and converted the file. Super clear! When you render your projects, are you using a process where the resolution is not lost?
