Hey guys,

please disregard my question….i figured it out.

I forgot about a layer on top, i had set to soft light and keyframed the opacity…which was subtly effecting my whole comp……stupid.

So, i turned off my light….and it’s still doing this.

I have material settings on my 3d text layer…..a lot of shininess….does this have anything to do with it?

Yes, it seems to only happen with quicktime footage.

I tried rendering out a single jpeg layer comp in each version and they look identical.

I also compared particle effects between both and it looks identical….

I’m not using color management on either.

I tried that, but same results.
Actually, i guess i figured it out. The size of the Jpegs are too large for C4D.
When i resize them to sizes under 4000×4000 or somewhere around there, it works.
Does anybody know the cutoff size/ or depth? Or is there anything else i’m missing here….

one last follow up on this….for this particular project i’m working on…where i have to produce title sequences and some cool Stacy Peralta-esque graphics…..do i import video into AE and manipulate from there, or do i make a bunch of comps in AE and overlay them on top of my video in FCP?
