December 18, 2012 at 4:16 pm in reply to: New BMD 9.6.7 Decklink drivers not working with FCP X9.6.7 seems to be a very problematic “update”.
With the BMD H.264 Pro Recorder the update caused a six second audio sync delay.
In FCP 7.0.3 the BMD Intensity Extreme would not refresh most of the time when changing tracks or moving directly to another point in the sequence.
Uninstalling 9.6.7 and reverting to an older version solved both issues.

I tried it both ways, with output conversion on and off, and it made no difference. The factory reset AJA support recommended did clear up the issue and all is well both on output and input cross conversions.
Thanks!

A factory reset did indeed resolve the issue. Thank you very much for your quick response.

I’m happy to get your input anytime Jeremy.
You know the output may well have been set…. I will test that before resetting to factory defaults just for fun.

Thank you, I’ll give that a try and will post the results.

Thank you, that is much appreciated and would be a valuable update for our workflow. Perhaps it could even be a setting so those who are more comfortable with the present design have that option.

[gary adcock] “Again, not what the KiPro was designed for, while everyone wants them too, the KiPro’s were not ever originally designed to replace a studio tape deck.
You do realize to properly handle this type of function you would need to add in audio track assignment and the ability to lock specific audio tracks so they would not be over written, in addition to separate digital audio inputs.”

You might try it using DHCP. I’ve found that it can take a bit of time to get the address assigned. Trying the MiFi this morning, it sat on page 54.2 and still reported “No DHCP Server” for maybe twenty or thirty seconds (sounds like no time when you write it, but seems a long time while you sit there) and then the address would pop up.

[gary adcock] “While this can be done over wireless- it will be far more reliable by using a standard RJ45 Ethernet connection as the 802.11 spectrum can effect some wireless audio systems and some camera controllers.”
All very good advice Gary, thank you. It is nice to know the feature works though, since sometimes it’s not practical to bring a computer and ethernet router into the field, whereas the Touch and MiFi fit in one pocket.
I’m certainly not knowledgeable enough to comment technically about the effects 802.11 broadcasts have on other equipment. From a practical standpoint though, they are used in every mobile unit, every television studio, every theater, stadium, opera house and concert hall I work in. Many shoots have multiple departments running their own networks in addition to the house system(s). Heck, even the audio department sometimes!
That being said, your point is well taken, a wired system is certainly more reliable. For me, it’s nice to know that wireless connectivity is possible.

[Jeremy Garchow] “[David Smith] “Tell me please, have you ever gotten this to work?”
Yeah, via a computer, an iPhone and iPad on the regular.
is this is a small office network? Big Office? home? Basically, how many computers on your network?
“Well that gave me some hope and I’ve found the problem! They did not like my WEP security. I opened the network and it worked. Reset the WEP password and it stopped working. I changed the security to WPA2 and it works!
Just for fun I tried a WEP setting with a different password. No go. Reset to WPA2, works fine with the same password.
Thank you very much for your time and thoughtfulness Jeremy, much appreciated.
