Check the parameters of the animation file you created in Motion, my guess is that you made an error in Motion by exporting at a frame rate that differs from your sequence settings.

I hope you’re copying the files to a hard drive before transcoding in MPEG Streamclip? If not, that’s the issue.

I understand why you’re confused Chris, that config is fairly complicated. If I were you, I’d stick with a RAID 1 config for either Mac or PC, whichever is most convenient for you, and I’d skip the whole exFAT partition concept, simply moving files to whichever machine you chose for the RAID via a portable drive formatted with exFAT.

I seriously doubt you’ll find any answers here coming from users experienced with that computer, cuz you’re unlikely to find many professionals using the latest version of CC with the bare minimum in terms of required hardware, and according to Adobe, your old Core Duo machine is the absolute minimum required.

For $500 you can purchase a Matrox HD Compress Card – it’s a dedicated hardware encoder that is approximately 5 to 6 times faster than encoding via software.
FYI, it works with all major encoding software, including AME, so once installed, you’ll see a zillion special Matrox presets within AME, each of which initiates the encode process through the Matrox hardware. It’s easy as pie.

What Shane wrote is 100% accurate, and instead of looking for the cheapest workaround, what you should be thinking about is troubleshooting the flaky Intensity card or investing in one of Blackmagic’s better cards that isn’t flaky. The Intensity card has never been one of BM’s best offerings, but they are so freaking cheap that you’re probably better off tossing it and getting a used Decklink Studio or Extreme, or Extreme 3D.

If I were you I would check the Adobe minimum requirements page, or simply install the 30-day free demo and try it out. If I had to guess, I’d say it will run on your old computer, but not well. You could add some newer components to improve performance, but you’d be better served by buying a newer and more modern computer.

Are you hoping to configure the RAID in the manner you described because you’re a DIT working on-set, or are you wanting to do things that way for some other reason? And, are you planning to edit from the RAID in this new configuration?

After doing the math, your Pro Res Proxy files (with 2-trks of audio) have a bitrate of about 2MB/sec. With 30-streams, you’re pushing 60MB/sec from a single drive – one drive simply can’t keep up with the data throughout demands required for that number of streams, especially while the same drive is running your applications. You need a dedicated media drive, and that would best be a RAID with at least two drives striped together, minimum. If you intend to do this workflow regularly, and you’d prefer to use Pro Res 422 rather than proxy, a 4-drive RAID will enable seamless playback.
