August 18, 2015 at 5:52 pmIf I were you I would check the Adobe minimum requirements page, or simply install the 30-day free demo and try it out. If I had to guess, I’d say it will run on your old computer, but not well. You could add some newer components to improve performance, but you’d be better served by buying a newer and more modern computer.

August 18, 2015 at 6:16 pmThanks David.
I’ve already checked Adobe minimum requirements page.
Both versions require the same minimum CPU, however CS5 requires 2 GB ram whereas CC 2014.1 requires 4 GB ram.
So on the face of it, CS5 will run better with 4 GB ram.
On the other hand CC 2014.1 may have more efficient algorithms and certainly more and easier options.
I thought someone has relevant experience. -

August 18, 2015 at 8:00 pmI seriously doubt you’ll find any answers here coming from users experienced with that computer, cuz you’re unlikely to find many professionals using the latest version of CC with the bare minimum in terms of required hardware, and according to Adobe, your old Core Duo machine is the absolute minimum required.
