It’s a gutty move to update this early to Leopard, especially if you have uncompleted projects that you intend
to work on after the change-over.Doesn’t upgrading right now make you one of the early waves of beta testers? I know some people like to do this, but I shudder to think
about trying to figure out a new operating system with unfinished FCP projects pending.Best of luck you deserve a COW medal of some sort…

Hi Walter,
I agree this is good advice…
for anyone who is putting together a long-form project.I ordered the DVD over a month ago and still haven’t received
it though…not sure just why.David

Hi Chris,
Nice reply – informative too.
I have been in the HDV timeline when I export to QuickTime, and this may be the problem. I do not have a ProRes timeline available yet, I have
FCS 2 but have not installed it yet…waiting for the first line of pro’s to shake the bugs out before I dive in, for obvious reasons, my knowledge is not deep enough to be able to understand fully when things may not turn out as expected. Thanks for the workflow tips, I will try them.
All the best,
David

July 2, 2007 at 2:34 pm in reply to: Why won’t FCP6 play an mp4 file straight from iTunes?Beau,
It looks like your question is answered to an extent.
But, as I was just wrestling with this the other day,
and I found the quickest way was to select the song (in iTunes),
that you want to import, go up into the “Advanced” setting, select
“Convert Selection to AIFF”…
This duplicates the song as an AIFF.
Drag that converted song to the desktop.
Import it into FCP from the desktop. All the best,
David

P_Worm,
The light on the switch briefly lights up and then goes out, yes.

Thanks for the thoughts guys.
Walter I would love to see what you are preparing to help
people learn Color.I would not even think of trying anything with Color until I
had satisfied myself that I knew what in the heck I was doing,
and it would take more than a couple of weeks I’ll wager.
But unless you’re willing to put in the time it doesn’t matter
how good Color is, it is only good in the hands of someone who
knows what they’re doing – that much I can tell from looking at
it. A deep app. Thanks again for the comments, it’s much appreciated.

I’ve been working with Fotomagico for a few years now.
It’s stunning rendition of stills is unmatched in any
other slideshow program I’ve seen…now that you can actually
export that quality – something that had been missing up til
now – it is indispensible. (not associated with them in any way).David

Hi Dave,
I think that would be a good set-up for anything.
We should all be so lucky…lol.
If you do wind up getting it, why don’t you give us an
update on how you like it…but I bet I know the answer…Have fun.
