[Christopher Bagnall] “I am recording on a Shure BG 1.0 with windscreen. and recording on Spark XL. It sounds decent in terms of no pops or hiss on playback, but I’d like to tweak it so it sounds warmer or more professional, any suggestions in terms of presets or filters that I should pay attention to?”

I don’t know anything about the mic you mentioned, but I can tell you from my many years of voice work,
that there are no plug-ins, presets or filters that will make your voice sound more professional.
That comes from things like experience and practice. Knowing what to listen for,
and being able to take direction.

As far as more warmth, well that is probably 90% voice, and 10% microphone.
A close, large diaphram condenser mic will add a bit, but most of the warmth comes from being able to control your voice.

    Maybe a used Chyron.
Or Final Cut Pro Studio with a new Kona 3 card.

When you say you need to shoot some antique toys in slow motion, I guess my questions would be…
How fast are these toys moving, and for how long?

Both AJA and Blackmagic Design produce high quality products.
You might start with either of those companies while better researching your needs.
    Good Luck!

So are you going to be doing something aside from a basic mix, like ADR, sound design, or music score for example, that would require dedicated audio software?
It seems kind of late in the game to be thinking about exporting the audio for remixing
into a new audio app that your not fimilar with only 2 weeks before the premiere of your film.

So do you really want “The Best” OR do you have some type of budget you have to maintain?

The Format and or codec used would depend on the products end use.

Where did you come up with 15×9?

By the way, the monitor you mentioned, the Pioneer PDP 505CMX 50″ plasma is native 16×9.
