There are many of us that learned the proper way to sync audio with film long before Robert Rodriguez
made his first movie on the cheap, its not that big a deal.[Steve Wargo] “You can remove extra frames if you want but then what? You can’t record a 24 frame sequence to anything and if you could, what TV or monitor would you watch it on?”
Are you forgetting that you can edit 24p with FCP or a number of computer based editors,
and output to DVD in 24p, not to mention view the finished product on any number of monitors that support a progressive frame rate.Have a cup of coffee and catch up on technology.

I use portable mixers all the time in the field that fit nicely into a Portabrace audio bundle.
As Ty states, clipping a Cap is not the answer,
riding the gain manually is the solution. -
How about new layer with say a box for the timecode that is the length of the project,
with the filter applied. -
If the sound engineer is a pro you should be OK.
He or she can select the frame rate before recording if using a pro app,
for easy layback later. -

MBox ships with both Mac and PC software included.
If you load the core audio software on the Mac, the MBox should be seen as an input/output device under Audio Midi setup. -

You can purchase these little FRS radios at places like Best Buy, and some are available with a vox activated mic,
but that might not be great in a concert setting.Can you not just run Clearcom line along with the composite line from your truck and use a belt pack?
I’m also curious how you are going to feed Genlock to the XL1, Or I guess your not.

If you are running a tether to the camera, then run clearcom from the truck with it,
and use a belt-pack for the cam op.If the camera is free roving, use inexpensive FRS two way radios with headsets.
