    Hi again,

Think I have sussed out what is happening with the so called problem i was having. I have posted a link here for the screen recording @ wrigleyvideo forums in the Encore DVD section of that forum.

just can’t seem to add a link to the wrigley forums at all on here

  • check yer mail 😉

  • not sure if this will help you in any way, but it’s worth a look http://www.creativecow.net/articles/hodgetts_philip/titles/index.html

Also try reducing the size of the fonts, and ,or, try to use a seperate highlight that is not part of the text.

    re-check all links again…

should be like this.. “PLAY ALL” button’s end action to play timeline 1- it’s end action to play timeline 2- it’s end action to play timeline 3- it’s end action to go back to menu.

click on each timeline in turn and check that the end actions are set up properly, or if you have Encore 1.5 then create a playlist for all timelines and then set the “PLAY ALL” button to link to this playlist with the end action set to return to menu

November 3, 2005 at 5:17 pm in reply to: Button Question-Adobe Encore.

sounds like your buttons are overlapping each other…. click on the first button and then hold the CTL key whilst clicking on each button in turn, this will bring up the BOUNDING box for each button and will show you where the overlap is.

or check out my site http://www.sitesled.com/members/doogs/downloads.htm and download Tutorial #5 from the basic section, this will show you a few pointers and how to correct the problem.

    hope this helps

I’m afraid that Encore don’t do “seamless” , but going from menu to menu makes things a little faster to the eye, rather than going from menu to timeline where there is a noticeable gap.

you need a “Play All” button that is linked to the 1st clip and the first clips end action to play the 2nd clip, etc, etc, etc
Then you will need individual buttons for each timeline to be able to play the clips individually.. like this… “Scene-1” button linked to play “scene-1” timeline, and then set this BUTTON’S override to return to the main menu after playing the timeline. now set all the other buttons up to play their respective timelines.

check out tutorial#8 from the INTERMEDIATE section of my website. http://www.sitesled.com/members/doogs/downloads.htm , this will make things a little clearer for you.

    hope this helps..

October 26, 2005 at 7:03 pm in reply to: What are sector headers and why do they get removed?

normally the “sector header” message(s) pop up when you have “CSS ENCRYPTION” enabled in the preferences of Encore, check to make sure that the copy protection is not enabled…

October 25, 2005 at 8:26 am in reply to: Problems with “next” button….

single click on a timeline so that it is highlighted, now look over to the “PROPERTIES” dialog box and click on “operations-SET….All permitted” button. click on this and then select “CUSTOM” in the “Permitted User Operations”. Now just untick the operations that you don’t want the DVD remote to perform, and then click “OK”..

    Hope this helps

October 23, 2005 at 9:14 pm in reply to: I cannot preview timeline in monitor

the search string I used was “monitor” or “timeline”, and that is what found the hits.
Think Encore sends the signal out through 1394, although i haven’t tried it personally.

Glad the issues you had have been sorted…. hope you continue to have fun with Encore without to many more headaches, as there is nothing worse to spoil the enjoyment of what is otherwise a great DVD authoring application.
And if you are needing any video tutorials for Encore then please feel free to visit my site http://www.sitesled.com/members/doogs/downloads.htm , there is plenty there to keep you busy.

    regards

    Dave
