I also had posted this over in the Apple DVD Studio Pro forum. Someone suggested the settings on my TV. And sure enough, when I switched the “Motion Profile” from “High” to “Low”, that took care of the problem. The blu-ray looks great.

What version of Photoshop? I once had the same problem and had to download the update, which took care of the problem. I can’t remember which version I was using at the time.

Also, I just did the same thing on a project last week, and I had one frame that came in with different gamma. I think I had saved all the frames as JPEG, except the one I was having problems with. So, if you don’t have any luck with anything else, try saving and importing as JPEG.

A few years ago I had a similar situation. The file only played in proprietary software on the PC. I couldn’t convert it. I ended up using the SVHS out of a graphic card on my PC and recorded that onto my MAC, then edited that. Lost some quality, but the quality of the original wasn’t very good to begin with, and the client had no other options.

Yes. I found the Ustream Producer this morning. That’s what I was messing around with when I got the camera hooked up. This event is for a non-profit, so we’re trying to do it with as little outlay as possible.

Do you know if Ustream has a time limit on live events? The event we’re trying to stream actually lasts for 24 hours.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been messing around with it this morning and I hooked up the AV Out from the EX-1 into a Panasonic DV deck. I hooked the DV out of that deck into the firewire of the MAC Quad-Core and the camera came up on the Ustream Producer inputs. So it looks like I can stream the event this way. It’s 4×3 out of the EX-1, but that’s okay for this event.

Now I just have to learn the ins and outs of using Ustream. I will check out their support site.

I use a PC to backup in the field. I’ve been doing it for a couple of years now and it works fine. As others have said, make sure “data protection” and “CRC check” are selected.

Clip browser gives each backup a new unique name (based on date and time). After they back up a card, I have my assistant REMOVE the card from the PC, and THEN select the newly backed up folder to make sure the footage is actually there.

Knock on wood, 3 years and haven’t lost any footage.

Because of some tight deadlines, I will have to continue as is.
If I don’t re-edit, am I correct in thinking that the footage won’t re-connect if the files are taken offline?

My RAID is pretty empty, so I can leave the footage on it for the time being.

Thanks for getting back to me on this. Although it wasn’t too nice to have this freaky thing happen, it was great to search and find not only people who had the same problem, but others who had answers to it.

This just happened to me. Running 7.0.1.
I shut down, rebooted and trashed preferences. Still all the same names.

I did have a freeze frame as the first clip. So I got rid of that. But the names still were the same.

So I trashed preferences again (after removing the freeze frame as the first clip), shut down, rebooted… no change.

Has anyone else figured out how to get the clip names back?

Did you change your folder structure or names?

The EX footage folders need to have a specific folder structure and names.

EX FOOTAGE FOLDER (can be any name)
subfolder > BPAV (needs to be called this)
subfolder > CLPR (needs to be called this
in this folder will be your shots (each in its own folder)
for example folder name: MIPI2433_01
in this folder will be the MP4 file and 4 other files.

If you changed your folder structure or names, Log & Transfer in FCP will not see your footage.
