I’ve done a lot of that manually using key frames. However, Crumple Pop makes a plugin that makes it easy to do. https://www.crumplepop.com/product/fcpx-motion-tracking-plugin-easytracker/

I’ve used it for years and like it.
Easy to use. Great results.
You can get good keys quickly. You can also dig deep and fine tune keys with countless individual settings.
Since the video is shot in my green screen studio and the lighting is the same for each shoot, once I get a really good key, I can usually cut and paste the attributes and the new key is pretty close to perfect. With slight variations due to the subject’s clothing, skin and hair coloring. -

November 16, 2020 at 12:06 am in reply to: Green green subject shrinking/growing post editStart with your footage and the background image that is going to be keyed at 100%.
When you change the scale and/or position of the footage, you need to also change the sale and/or position of your background image.
By doing this, you will not see any shrinking or enlarging.

The Custom Title in FCPX allows you to change any of it’s parameters. So you could use that. Larry Jordan has a short tutorial on it in his Inside Tips:
https://www.theinsidetips.com/tip-888-secrets-of-the-custom-title/
If you want to use Photoshop. Create them oversized so you can enlarge them without out losing quality. If you’re editing in 1920×1080. Double or Triple that, depending on how much you want to enlarge the text.
Create JPEG images of the text you want on the screen.
If you want to change color, make 2. The first with the normal color. The second with the new color.
When you edit in FCPX, lay the jpeg on the timeline. It will reduce to fit the 1920 x 1080 timeline automatically. When you want to enlarge something, put a duplicate of the JPEG on top. Crop the word or phrase you want to enlarge. Then use the transforms to make the top clip any size you want. It will enlarge over the original text clip on the bottom.
To change color. Again, lay a duplicate clip on top then crop the word or phrase on the top clip and then use an effect to go from the bottom (original) text to the top (new color text).
I’ve attached a sample video of enlarging text on the screen that I had done using the JPEG directions above.
As I said earlier, you can do all this directly in FCPX with a Custom Title and the use of “compound clips”.
There is an in-depth tutorial on using the Custom Title. I couldn’t put my hand on it. But if you can find it, and take the time to learn how to control it, you can do just about anything with text.
Good luck.

Sounds strange. I just dropped the “Basic Lower Third” title into the timeline and there was no fade on it.
I usually use the CUSTOM title for all my on screen text.
In the Properties you can control just about anything you can imagine. There is a good tutorial someone created on using this. Maybe google it in YouTube.Try taking all your title clips, make them longer than you need. Then create a NEW COMPOUND clip. Now, if the titles fade up at different times, you can just cut the opening off, so there is no fade. Then add any type of fade or effect to the front of the Compound Clip.

I imagine you made sure that the Dissolve In for each title is the SAME duration

Craig,
Thanks for the post.
I hadn’t thought about camera changes. I purchased a Sony EX-1 when it first came out, and I’m still using it.
However, I can see me needing something that can shoot 4K.#1 deliverable – online and digital files
#2 deliverable – DVDs (mostly for non-profit clients and fundraising)The new iMac maybe a little steep in price, since I’ll probably also need to get some type of media storage, beause I am currently using 3 HDs in my Mac Pro as an internal RAID.
I’ll check out the links you provided and see if something makes sense for me to purchase now.
I’ve had a few close calls with my Mac Pro, replacing components to keep it going. There’s been a few signs of upcoming problems, so I’m thinking I need to do something sooner, rather than later.I appreciate the time you took to respond and for providing a few links.
It will definitely put me in the right direction. Thanks again.

Thanks Noah
I will take a look at it. -

November 22, 2017 at 12:58 pm in reply to: Reimport from Camera/Camera Archive – not workingThanks Noah,
That’s too bad.
However, I ran a batch list when I was exporting the XML from FCP7, so I had the media start and media stop times for each clip.
I imported them manually in FCPX, using those times.
Once I had them as movies on my RAID, I then did the re-link, and they inserted into the timeline.
Took a little longer importing them with the same media start and end points, but it did work.Better than having to re-edit the entire video from scratch, as the client wanted some changes 5 years later.
Thanks again!

Thank you everyone.
Just took a walk, and told my wife that FCPX was probably doing it in the background already. Thanks for the confirmation!
