I’m working out of the office at the moment so I’ll check that when I get in on Friday.
Is third party RAM more likely to suddenly fail?
Is there an app I can run to check the stability of the ram modules? Thanks Again

HI there.. Sorry I was rushing and did not explain properly.
The crash is the link windows ‘blue screen of death’. The one where OSX dulls and a polite box comes up telling you that you need to restart you machine. Is this a kernal panic?
At the time I think I was using Safari and Mail. Itunes , skype and adium may have also been running.
It’s normally fine with this going. It did the same thing last night as well. Same crash but I was using the Shake demo at the time.
If I need to provide any more info please let me know what you need.Either my signature of my profile contains info on my machine.
Thanks again
Dave

September 13, 2006 at 10:06 am in reply to: PLEASE REPORT AE pasting bug (Adobe people pay attention)I had this bug in 6.5. We then installed the AE7 30day trial and we could copy and paste fine.
The whole studio I’m freelancing at has since updated to 7 and have heard no complaints about it yet.Could this be something that gets corrupted elsewhere, ie. the clip folder where the copied text is held?

If you’re on a pc then ‘un-maximise’ the main window and drag the main window’s grey area so that it covers both screens. You can then move AE 6.5’s windows where-ever you want inside its work area.
Hope that helps.

How many of the people who have voted haven’t used more than 1 NLE though?
I’ve used Avid and FCP but until 18 months ago AVID would have been my favourite… as I hadn’t used any other NLE in my 8 years of cutting.Just my 2 pence.

OK so I got to my suite this morning (after typing the last post in the thread) and none of my sliders were even giving me a level feedback let alone moving to the correct position. I trashed the preferences again and restarted but got the same thing.
Then I realised that I had 4 tracks switched off in my timeline. These were the music tracks and were switched off because I wanted to check the actors levels.
When I turned these tracks back on everything went back to normal. The levels were not only visable, but the sliders were changing and moving as they should.
If I mute the tracks instead of turning them off this does not happen. Is this a bug I should report or is it a feature I missed when checking in the manual & online help?
I hope this helps someone pull less hair out of their head than I did mine!
Cheers

The ‘alt 6’ sliders I mean.

A friend just told me how to do it.
For those that are interested, you goto the display preferences, then into arrangement and then (even though is does not hightlight) you can drag the menu bar from window to window inside the arrangements preference box.Hope that help someone other than me! and thanks to anyone who was goign to reply.
