I have captured hour long HDV tapes (1080i60) with no loss of audio sync.

Pretty sure the DV codec insists on a specific screen size. You might try Motion-Jpeg instead of Animation – that might play back better.

PPro has subclip capability. In the source window, mark your In and Out and then click and hold in the window and drag that to a bin. You get a popup window to name the subclip.

I’d guess the video card on the MB can’t handle the video bandwidth. Or the hard drive is full and the AVIs are fragmented….

    I hate when that happens.

You’ll have to keep fiddling with the bit rate till you get what you want.

You have to have edited the project using a P2 preset.

You can sort the MFX clips by date … that is the shoot date and time.

I always sort the files by date and pick the one with the most recent date and time.

    What are your project settings?

Premier Pro doesn’t have a preset for H.264 Quicktimes.
You might try using one of the XDCAM or DCVProHD presets.
If you import the footage into a NTSC projects – it will downconvert the footage to DV and if you try to blow that up to HD it will look ugly.

But this is all guessing without knowing more about what you did.

    Interesting camera though.

    It worked!

Don;t know why the camera generated the extra empty file. Don’t know why PremierePro choked on it. But you can edit the XML in WordPad on the PC and get rid of the reference to that file. YAY!
