This problem is still appearing in v11.0.2. Although I had about 40 similar titles appearing individually with dissolves, only 3 of them dropped the underlying video to black. Used opacity instead of dissolves to fix so that I could extend the 0% opacity title until the next one appeared.

BTW, the blue playback thing in Pixlet is just in FCP. If I play the MOV in the quicktime player, it’s not blue.

Yeah, I tried that too. I get the same results as before. Using the time remap (cmd-j) just creates a freeze frame effect. When I googled the problem, another site suggested deleting prefs, which I don’t really want to do but I do want to fix this.

Well its blue with a bit of cyan, like i’m losing the red channel completely. I have only 2 or 3 layers, and when the timeline is paused, it looks fine. The actual render file looks fine too, but playback in the canvas is blue/cyan. It’s really weird.

I hate to respond without answering your question, but I’m trying to make a similar setup work and wanted to ask you you set the camera up. I was planning on using the HVX200 on monday (1-day rental) to live capture to FCP in DVCPRO50. What camera settings do you use and do you have to have a P2 card installed even if you are not really going to hit “record” on the camera?

Yeah, I don’t doubt that its odd choice, but here’s how I arrived at this camera. Our producer has a good releationship with a particular rental source, so I’m limited to the dozen or so cameras they have available. I wanted to capture in 4:2:2 through firewire and the DVCPRO50 format seemed to be the only way to do that. The only camera the rental place has with both DVCPRO50 and firewire is the HVX200. So now I have to figure out how to make it work.

  • Here are 2 solutions to batch locking/unlocking. The first is a Contextual Menu Item, the other is a standalone application:

    https://www.setnan.org/mac/LockPop/

    https://www.vojousoftware.com/products.html#locker

I use the first one. Works great. Right-click on a folder and you can unlock everthing in it, recursively.

I have been using this as a guidline for system updates. I’ve never been crippled before but there’s no reason to risk it. Also, if I’m in the middle of a project with a tight deadline, I wait till that’s over (or the deadline relaxes) before doing any upgrades.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I decided on the sony and it looks amazing even though haven’t calibrated it yet. There is not one dead/stuck pixel which I’m amazed at. (and relieved, actually; the warranty assures 99.9% good pixels, so that means 230 pixels have to be bad before they replace it?) Amazon had a great deal on the monitor and shipped it extremely fast especially considering there was a blizzard here over the weekend.
