  • Rendered sequence plays back blue?

Posted by David Darrow on January 17, 2008 at 10:50 pm

I just put FCP 6 on a new 17′ MBP. After capturing video and creating a composite with a PNG background, I rendered the sequence and on playback, it turns blue. I can view individual frames fine, and if I go into the render files, I can play the actual clip fine but just not in the sequence. It looks like I put a colorize hue filter on it. Anyone know what is wrong?

I have had this problem also, and its not just blue…i’ve had allsorts of colours! Do you find the entire clip gets coloured or is it just a section?
My problem was random sections of a clip become coloured.

I never found the cause, but it tended to happen when i had several layers of logos being comped onto a video track. It also happened when i used a motion file overlayed onto a clip, if i was using the fcp renderer instead of rendering the shot in motion first.

Well its blue with a bit of cyan, like i’m losing the red channel completely. I have only 2 or 3 layers, and when the timeline is paused, it looks fine. The actual render file looks fine too, but playback in the canvas is blue/cyan. It’s really weird.
