It seems to be an issue with the connector on the mic. When I insert it into the transmitter most of the way, it sounds good. When I push it all he way in, I get the noise that’s generated from the transmitter (compared to the ME2 mic). It’s almost like the 1/8 connector on the 11D is too long. Weird.

Hi Ty, I just got done chatting with tech support from where I bought it, and it seems Sanken may have sent them a bad batch. The issue, as I had suspected is with the shielding; all I did was unplug the ME2 and plug in the 11D and got the interference noise. argh. Any recommendations on other mics?

After working with Adobe support, they determined that it’s a bug in the software. Basically, it isn’t saving marker information on merged clips when creating markers in the source monitor. The workaround is to ether use the timeline or create markers and info on the original video clip, THEN make the merged clip. Hope this helps!

Now it’s saving inconsistently! Some things save while others do not. I posted this in the forum on Adobe’s website as well. With all the suggestions I was given, it’s still an issue. Any help would be great.

March 15, 2018 at 6:37 pm in reply to: Premiere CC Media Browser Crash

    I have a MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz i7, 16GB RAM (version 10.13.3).

Footage is on a CalDigit 12T RAID.

    Premiere Pro version 12.0.1.

This problem only started about a month ago. I can usually import one clip at a time but, if I start to do more than that, it locks up and I get the spinning beach ball.

    Hi David,

All seems fine now but, we haven’t gone through and re-merged all the clips again. So, I’m just concerned that the same thing will happen. I’m just wondering if it has something to do with the RAM or GPU; but I can’t image that should be a problem as there’s not THAT many clips.

We haven’t started a sequence; just building/organizing the project.

    Thanks Kevin!

At this point, I’ve decided to stick with using the native format.

But I’m still not finding how to create my own presets via the Quicktime option in Transcode. If I’m in Prelude, select Ingest, Transfer, Transcode and then select Quicktime as the format, what should be the correct Preset be? I’ve done an extensive search for a tutorial that would help, but I haven’t found it.

    Hi Ty,

It depends on what people are wearing but, most of the time I’ll stick the top stick to the back of the rubber mount and then mount that to the inside of the shirt, near the chest cavity. I found the rubber mount really isolates the mic from any clothing rubbing up against it. sometimes I can sandwich the whole thing, especially if the person is wearing a button-up shirt.

I use the COS-11. It’s become my favorite lav mic. I’ve done A LOT of hidden lav work with it, both for “reality” TV and docs. I use the rubber mount that comes with the mic, and “Top Stick” tape.
