Your best option still is to use a screen recording software. You can hide your palettes with the tab key and by hitting f twice you can also hide the top menu bar and keep a clean screen.

As of CS4 you now create your contact sheets with Bridge. There’s a patch/plug in that returns the removed features from CS3 to their original location but I’m not sure if it’s still available.

Illustrator files automatically generate an alpha channel without having to do anything. It works fine in AE and PPRO I’d assume it will also work with FCP.

That’s works in Photoshop but for some strange reason it doesn’t in illustrator, one of those miscommunication between programming teams at Adobe.

I’ve been looking for that same feature to come around every time a new version is released, but so far nothing.

Pretty much anything black on your alpha channel will be invisible (masked) anything white will be visible, so yes, any image with transparency will contain an alpha channel, even when you do not create it manually, such as a png file or even an .ai file.

Regarding the video card, I have no idea…

Not sure on how pc’s work but on a Mac I would first deleteing the Photoshop preferences, however since you mention that it is also happening in AE it might be a better idea to do a clean reinstall of your entire suite.

Are you creating the file from scratch or they gave you an existing one? Is it an Illustrator file? You need to provide more info so we can give you detailed steps on how to do it.

Place links the image to file (unless you unchecked the option). Paste embeds it.

I normally use one layer at the bottom for linked images, the one or more for Illustrator elements and finally one on top for non printing objects that the printer needs to know.
