The OP is confusing an applied simulation effect with the physical reality of different frame rates and splices. Doing good “film look” is quite difficult or it just looks fake. Careful, a little goes a long way.

Yes, it works a charm but what you want to do is export the text layer as a still frame and bring it back in which is the same thing as using a PS or AI layer.
We often create our massive text objects in three or four sections. Each is rendered at exactly the same pixel-per-second velocity so they can be stitched together seamlessly. The advantage comes in the ability o make the inevitable changes and corrections without having to redo everything.

You’ve got to be able to put the jar back over the effect plate. Depending on how ou shot it, this could be impossible ro too complicated to work well.

You create your effect movie. Place it on top of your video track, positioned inside the jar. A copy of your video track that has only the jar goes on the upper track.

There are other ways to do this. But for something to be “inside” something else, you’ve got to be able to drop the object on top of the thing that ‘s inside the object.

Depending on your need for elegance, the pen lifts and loops are the elements that require care and can be very tricky. IN the oled days of After Effects, creating elegant calligraphy was a question a applying write-on brush strokes (or compelx masking) to several layers, each with a separate set of letterform details.

Perhaps a more interesting text assembly efffect can be sold to your client. Be sure to look at the Motion tutorial pages here on the cow and hit Mark Spencer’s site. This write-on effect question gets posted weekly here or in the AE forum so there’s lots of informaiton here on the cow, you just have to find it.

Ooops. Wrong forum.

Once AE finds one file, it should relink to all in the same directory path. That’s a preference, I believe. sorry, not at my AE machine to check it for you but relinking is covered extensively in the help system.

Works a charm for me. You are likely seeing a disconnect between the comp’s dimensions and the AI file dimensions. I have my AI designer work with a document size that is slightly larger than the format I’m animating, usually just DV. He found the 500×800 pixel workspace terribly confining till he realized the vectors were just being scaled in AE.

Phantom camera systems can be rented.
There are dozens of video cameras that will shoot far more than 100fps, just takes a bit of research. Most are not designed for photography but for scientific or mechanical analysis systems. So you have to consider how the obviously different image will fit into the rest of your production. However, the results for super slow motion will be luscious. Even high end pixel-vector recreation software like Twixtor looks like a hack compared to the real thing.

Still images are not interlaced so you do not need to deinterlace them.
