I was sent a project file and a couple of dvds containing XDCam media files. I copied the files to the raid and then opened the project.

Having never worked with video from anything other than tape before, i was looking forward to a quicker capture…not so !

As the files appeared offline i tried relink media but when i selected more than 1 clip, the files refused to show up in the relink window.

The only way i could do it was highlighting one clip at a time and manually relinking them.

Is there a way to batch relink these kind of files?

    thanks
    Adam

    Ooops. Wrong forum.

Once AE finds one file, it should relink to all in the same directory path. That’s a preference, I believe. sorry, not at my AE machine to check it for you but relinking is covered extensively in the help system.

thanks John, but that post has nothing at all to do with the problem i mentioned. I’m not tryign to transcode to another format, just get FCP to link to the media!

I’m not that familiar with XDCAM, but I was wondering if it might work like P2 Log & Transfer. With P2 if you mount the volumes with the MXF files in the L&T window, you can then batch capture clips in the Browser. Maybe there’s an analagous way to do this with XDCAM. Just a thought.
