Scaling up might be useful.
The Magnify filter in After Effects runs an adequate resampler that is far superior to Scale.

I’m beginning to think it’s all going to be wasted effort in a few months when CS3 starts to become available. The logical progression for Adobe is to move tons of operations to the GPU (like Motion and Aperture are doing now) and to take maximum advantage of all of OS10.5’s abilities to drive the Intel cores.

Unlike the prerelease of Photoshop CS3, no one seems to be talking much about AE8, though.

Yes, there are several font creation apps.
versiontracker only lists two for the Mac: FontLab and the venerable Fontographer.

It’s generally easier to learn how to apply the effects and expressions contained within the text presets than it is to create one’s own font.

Noise. Can’t stand to watch it again.
In AE? Without big plugs? No. Not really. Shatter will get you started, maybe, but it’s a totally different look.
Big noise that makes big money gets big designers who can play with big iron.

Cold you make your arrow out of lots of little square paint brush shapes? Link the paint or stroke layer to the separate arrowhead and tail layers with an expression.

I’ve been in on similar projects. Photoshop guys don’t know squat about video and they cannot be taught.

Find the most reasonable member of their team and bring her over for espresso and crumpets at your shop. Ask her to bring her laptop. Show here how your comp is created and how your exports are created. Be patient.
