Re: object along path BUTTTT deforms too! Query?
Help: I want to animate an actual ‘arrow shape’ along a path and have it deform to the path as well.(follow/deform) The path is wavey; like a snake. So, the premise is an ‘arrow’ representing “heat-waves” follow a wavey path/spline. I want it to animate down the path and follow “deform” to the path as well. (Like a ‘snake fx’) Well, hope that helps to picture my issue.
I understand how to get objects to follow paths,, but can objects deform to that path as well?? Thanks!

Get yourself Path distort which is part of Digital Anarchy’s Anarchy Toolbox plugin collection. If the path is simple enough, you may also get away with using AE’s own Bezier Warp.

Cold you make your arrow out of lots of little square paint brush shapes? Link the paint or stroke layer to the separate arrowhead and tail layers with an expression.
