This is probably simple but I haven’t used AE in a while and can’t figure it out. Using light burst on a layer that’s scaled down to about 1/4 the size of the comp. Light burst rays are cut off at layer edges but I want them to extend out naturally. How can I accompish this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Recall precomping, grasshopper?
Place your scaled layer in the center of a standard comp. Select the layer, precompose (or nest). Now apply Light Burst to the nest.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Thanks guys. I had tried that but now realize I wasn’t applying my effects at the right step. I think I have it now!
