Try using an easy setup to match your sequence and playback settings.
Make sure your sequence is the same codec and Standard as your playback settings.

A white screen usuall means QuickTime does not have the required codec to play back the video. Are your sequence and playback and export settings the same.
You could be exporting to a codec you do not have installed.

Recompress the sequence to 8bit.
Delete all of the tape media and recapture it.
The P2 Media will be fine because it has been recompressed.

I think the bigger concern might also be that CHINA is PAL country. So all of the broadcaster tapes you will be getting from them will be in PAL. You might want to shoot everything with a PAL DVX100 A B instead. THis depends on how much you are relying on the “other” footage.
PAL will pose an extra problem because it will need to be transcoded to NTSC, which you can do within FCP with Natress filters. http://www.natress.com

Think about Flip4Mac which allows you to use compressor to encode WMV files. The most amount of people will be able to see it that way.

This makes sense to me since what you are asking the deck to do is calculate pulldown and then figure which A frame to ggrab and then attach that to a TC number.
If you are finishing 23.98 then the final sequence should be 23.98. The deck should then be put in 23.98 and then capture your final sequence.
Can you create a copy of the sequence and just test a one or two miute chunk?

Would you not have to run the edls’ through cinema tools to generate a 23.98 timeline for the online? It sounds like you are asking the KONA to do the pulldown on the fly.
What if you just created a 23.98 cinematools sequence for the online?

The sheer codecs will play in Real Time through the KONA no problem. Apple has not enabled these codecs for RT (which is a shame because a lot of people could be running uncompressed on FW drives with this codec installed) so if you drop a filter on you will get a red bar and need to render.
I am using this as an archive codec as well. I Media Manage and archive with this codec so that I can easily recall jobs and save a ton of space.
It’s worth a look. You have to render everything in FCP anyway, Why not save yourself the Hard Drive real estate.
