Basically if you use option 1. you are making a copy, BUT you will be using the sequence timecode.

What are your capture settings. If you are capturing DV it should be fine. Maybe make sure you run an easy setup.
If you are capturing some other codec you need to figure out if you have enough space on the drives according to the data rate you are selecting..

open both projects
create a new project
tear away the browser windows from the two existing projects.
Drag whatever you want to the new projects.
Close the original two projects.
Edit away.

I am curious about this. Once you hit the space bar the playhead stops wherever it is in the sequence.
I need a better explanation of why this is such a critical feature?
This is something the FCP team would only really tackle if there was some sort of really important discovery.

Yes,
I have not had to go back to TIGER (once I did) and it seems stable. I have worked in SD, and HD.
One thing to think about is TIME MACHINE When it kicks in it starts using your finder to do backups so try to schedule backups when you are not really doing anything on the machine.
AJA is rock solid. I love how this company operates. When they release it IT WORKS and they still have a good open relationship with their customers. It’s fantastic really.
They are so reliable. I like that in a company not a lot of talking just a lot of DOING, and AJA does what they do very well.

Jeremy,
I had to reinstall Leopard (don’t ask) but it seems that the 10.5.1 update has made everything run much more smoothly.
It’s more tiger like than it has been since running tiger (I still have a Tiger drive ready at all times)
Make sure you do a full backup if you want to migrate.
