Capturing 60 minutes footage
I’ve been trying to use the capture now function to capture the entirety of one mini dv tape to use as back up. After about 10 or so minutes it will stop capturing and tell me that i have run out of disk space. I have over 180 gb of disk space on an external hard drive I am using to save my capture scratch in. I have checked over my system settings and everything seems to be okay. Not sure why this is still happening?

Please give your full system specifications, what computer, what drives, what camera or deck, how everything’s connected, what settings are on the media, what settings you’re using in Final Cut, and finally what version of the software, of the OS, and of QT are you using?

What are your capture settings. If you are capturing DV it should be fine. Maybe make sure you run an easy setup.
If you are capturing some other codec you need to figure out if you have enough space on the drives according to the data rate you are selecting..

Have retried capturing with easy setup adjusted and haven’t had any problems! Thanks anyway though.
