Well… I called my brother, who hasn’t upgraded to 20 yet… and asked him what he thought – He wasn’t at his computer so told me to do what I always did… And it worked. No clue as to what changed/happened. Aaaarrrggg… But, THANK YOU all for your input.

I did a reset per instructions; added an audio track; Shift+v – no happiness.

It appears so – but then I’m not using MainConcept…???

    Vegas 19 actually does install.

Media – download from the web

MPEG-2 failure – when attempting to render to mpeg-2

    Thank you!

In “Help/Search” enter “autosave”. Save has changed from the “simple legacy Autosave function from former versions of VEGAS Pro.”

  • It looks like you haven’t gotten a response… I use iZotope for initial audio modifications – and if I run into something after starting my video edit – I will often return to iZotope. Other than that I will use a volume envelope to make modifications that are more straight-forward…

One of the initial issues I had with Pro 18 was “where is the backup?” I couldn’t find it. It wasn’t in my folder with the rest of the files like it was with 13. THEN I found that there is a different method being used…and the backup files (NOT .BAK however) are held in a different folder.

I found that I needed to load an EMPTY project and Vegas would ask if I wanted to restore the previous version of my project. So far, seems to work.

There is an option to have the .bak file show up like it used to… LOTSA new stuff to learn – especially since I upgraded from 13.

  • I think I read in the manual that the saving of preferences is new to Pro 18. However, I then read somewhere that even that might have issues. What I have done in the past is to have my previous version preferences up and then load the new version’s preferences – and then just enter the options from one to the other…
