For instance, have you uninstalled everything and then tried a reinstall?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Vegas if you can. I had this happen once (with other plugins) and doing that uninstall/reinstall fixed it.
If not, this might be a question for someone from VASST like John Rofrano.

August 23, 2011 at 2:06 am in reply to: One of the most remarkable videos in the VIDEOS/REELS section — Bruce Branit’s ‘World Builder’ (in 720p)I went to a different computer and it’s working now.
Not sure what happened. The first time I tried the video was trying to load, but then came back and said something like, “The MP4 file is no longer available.”
Thanks.

For HD stuff I can’t really say. I’d love to say “YES” and agree with you, but most of my current work isn’t in HD.

I agree with everything Steve and Stephen said here. 🙂
I chose to upgrade to version 10 for three reasons (only 1 of which I really needed) :
1) I needed to be able to work with Stereoscopic 3D projects (the real reason)
2) I encode a lot to MP4 and Version 10 uses GPU for accelerated encoding with the Sony plugin. Make sure you get Version 10e though as versions 10a-c had issues.
3) I upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit and the kid in me wanted the latest 64-bit Vegas to match. I was able to justify this because of item #1. 🙂
Outside of #1 and #2, I personally haven’t used anything in Version 10 that I couldn’t already or was doing in Version 9.

The way I read it, that’s the UPGRADE price from Version 3 -> Version 4.
That’s why the price listed under Version 2 and 1 are more expensive because it would cost more to upgrade from earlier versions.

There could be lots of problems.
What version of Windows and Vegas are you using?
Have you monitored any of your resources?
Is your hard drive nearly full (under 10% free space)?
How much RAM do you have?
Have you viewed your RAM usage (such as in task manager)?
What CPU do you have and is it being used at 100%?
Pagefile size and usage?
How much memory do you have allocated to the “dynamic ram preview”?
Are your source clips on the same drive and/or same partition as what you are rendering to?
Have you noticed anything else about your machine, such as slower start/shutdown times? Other applications not running as fast?
Hopefully these will help you in finding the issue.

I would obviously try uninstalling everything Vegas related and then do a reinstall.
Just for my own curiosity, why are you wanting to run the 32 and 64 bit versions side by side?

Does this error occur with any project? Or a specific project? Are you opening a file by double-clicking the .veg file? Or doing a “file | open” in Vegas? Or do you have Vegas set to automatically open the last project?
What happens if you launch Vegas, create a new project, save it, and then try reopening it?
