Are you saying someone told you this is a feature? That can’t be, it’s a bug and it wasn’t there in 4.5.

I agree it’s a great way to double check that you have audio coming in if the meters move during capture. We should all use the feedback area on Apples site. I spoke to one of the FCP team at NAB and he said they do add the things that are requested most.

Forgot to mention we did a clean install on both of our computers. Wiped the drives and started from scratch.

One thing that is helpful is to go to the user preferences and turn on (Prompt for settings on new sequence).
It will help you double check yourself for sequence settings. You can do this for projects as well.

The shaking of the graphics was because the Sequences are set to Normal. If we use Fastest it’s a good!

Darren, We run through a mixer but what we are seeing is:
when we capture at -12db on the FCP meters it plays back at -6db in FCP after capture.
I’m not sure if that’s what your seeing as you were taking about output and we see it on input.
This is NTSC.
