  • Send it to Apple to be checked out. I’ve had nothing but great performance with my mac pro 6 core 3.5 and it’s ultra quiet. I’ve never heard the fans come on yet. It’s been in use since last January.

You didn’t mention which model you have.

We cut 9 hours of a 5 camera multicam over the last 3 days on Yosemite without a hitch! Loving X!

I did start the library/projects on Mavericks in the same version of final cut 10.1.3. Not a lot of cutting yet. Mainly loading 10 bands of multicam with 4 cameras.

So far so good. I had to reinstall the blackmagic DesktopVideo 10.2.2 before FCP X 10.1.3 would see it.

  • Larrys test where done on a 2012 iMac which I believe uses the
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR5 memory
    or
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory
Configurable to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

It would be interesting to try this on a computer with an ATI graphics card.
