Problems with Mac Pro Late 2013 (Loud Fan and slow performance)
Hello,
Sorry not sure where I should post… I only seen a Apple iPad under the hardware section??
I have Late 2013 Mac Pro that has a horrible performance and the fan is constantly running in high speed.I already did a PRAM reset, reinstalled OS X Mavericks, it won’t finish installing Yosemite, Firmware is the latest version.
Any tips to get this guy back on normal track?

Send it to Apple to be checked out. I’ve had nothing but great performance with my mac pro 6 core 3.5 and it’s ultra quiet. I’ve never heard the fans come on yet. It’s been in use since last January.
You didn’t mention which model you have.

It happens sadly.
Were on our 7th nMP and they are all still kicking it hard.
We’ve gone through 2 dozen plus cheese graters and one was a fail at delivery.
Not bad considering a half a year was spent returning a brand new Dell Precision (Maya box) back and forth then a few visits for a mobo replacement blah blah blah…
It was the last Dell in our dept.

Maybe boot from an external drive. Wipe it clean meaning reformat system drive with disk utility and do a clean install. It could be bad ram too.can you try taking out some of the ram chips and see if there is a bad one.
Maybe run apple’s hard ware tester.
