Hmmm….if I increase the dissolve to longer than 3 seconds, its chokes even on software only.

Well, this is odd. I tried to go back to older drivers and it wouldn’t let me, so I decided to try and uninstall the drivers completely and reinstall. I thought I had the problem fixed, but then I tried to put a few dissolves in a row consecutively on the timeline, it choked. I went back and tried consecutive dissolves with “software only” enabled and it choked as well.
Back to the drawing board I guess.

AHA! Yes, it works fine with Software setting. So what do you suggest next?

Not sure what happened here, but I reduced the y rotation to 0 and now it seems to be fine.

Yes it is. Box emitter, direction Outwards, Y rotation 13, Gravity -150. everything else seems to be default.

The presentation software that is being used can import either wmv or mpg. The mpg seems to stutter for a second on the first frame as well. That is perhaps a flaw in the software itself.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried all of your suggestions…..nothing really helped. I found, however, that when I rendered it from Windows Media Encoder it cleared up the luminance problem, but created a slight stagger on frame 1 instead. So , again, not really usable.
…..sigh.
