OK, I fixed the window size issue, but my question still stands:
Can I go straight from the HMC150 into my Macbook or do I have to use an i/o box like Matrox?
Any help is much appreciated.

February 21, 2012 at 6:20 pm in reply to: Desperate! Cannot Render or Export Suddenly–On Deadline!Well, I’ll tell ya, I knew it had nothing to do with the monitor, since I was on my Macbook Pro. And other videos rendered fine. I found the answer via Google search, which, not surprisingly, pointed me right back here, to a post from a while ago. (I can’t find the post now, otherwise I’d link to it.)
Basically, the problem was the frame size/aspect ration/compressor combination which made FCP think there was no preset for it. Or something. The suggestion which I tried (and which worked) was just to open a new sequence, using the same frame size, time base, aspect ration, etc… BUT to change the compressor settings to DV/DVCPRO-NTSC.
One thing I learned, though, is to not do that until you’re done editing, otherwise you’ll be rendering ever five seconds.

I’ll just second what Collin said. We use the 7D and the Zoom H4 and synch using Pluraleyes and have never had a problem.

December 8, 2011 at 1:18 pm in reply to: How do I do that thing where the thing changes but the other thing doesn’t??That’s totally the thing, Neil. Thanks! (The thing is, though, that I was trying to figure out how to move the In/Out points in the Viewer. Turns out, you have to position the Slip Tool over the In or the Out point marker. I was trying to drag in the area between them. Because I am stupid.)
In any case, all is well. Thanks for the reply, man!

Wow, my cup runeth over with all this free codec learnin’. I really appreciate it! Andrew, lemme ask you. Having gone through the hell of editing an entire five minute video in H.264, (which I won’t do again) when I exported it and uploaded it to YouTube, I swear it feels jumpy to me. Is that possible? Wouldn’t the export process eliminate that? Would you mind taking a look at this and letting me know if it looks off to you? Thanks!

Thanks so much, Todd! Your reply made me realize that I was using my own custom preset, and not Compressor’s. The actual 422 preset does, indeed, compress the audio just fine. (And I’ve changed the setting on my custom preset to PCM, which worked.) Thanks again, man, you saved me a ton of time.
