I was using my HMC150 for webstreaming on free services like Ustream and was told (in this form, I think) that the camera didn’t output in digital, but rather in analog, so I’ve been going from the composite out, through a AVDC110 converter and into my macbook pro.

However, I never thought to use the HDMI out. I don’t know why. Maybe I was told I couldn’t. In any case, do you know if I can run straight from the camera’s HDMI out and into the computer and get an HD signal? If so, can you tell me what cable I need? HDMI to what?

I ask because now that I’m using Wirecast Pro, I find that my video frame doesn’t fill the player window. Am thinking maybe it’s because there isn’t an HD picture going in.

    Thanks!

OK, I fixed the window size issue, but my question still stands:

Can I go straight from the HMC150 into my Macbook or do I have to use an i/o box like Matrox?

    Any help is much appreciated.

Any device that can accept HDMI INPUT should enable you to stream video from the HDMI port on your HMC-150.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many devices that accept HDMI INPUT. ( most computers feature HDMI OUTPUT ports, with NO INPUT ports )

Try AJA, Blackmagic and/or ATOMOS for a variety of HDMI recorders.
