  • I’ve only seen the Oled, waiting for it to be delivered this week. But I can safely say it is the best grading monitor I’ve ever seen.
Makes the LCD’s look like toys and its tech surpasses the CRT grade one monitors its supposed to replace.

If you have the money, that’d be the one to get.

  • Hi Nook, I agree with the request in question 2……

The disable current using down shift is actually a new feature, before then you had to turn off the nodes individually so heading in the right direction on that one!

Also – “3. How do I switch the sides on the reference still and the current grade in wipe mode? I’ve read through the manual about this, but it was a bit confusing since the button layout the manual refers is different to the actual button layout on the panel.”

If you go to the settings and make sure the still wipe is set to wraparound, you can then use the central scroll wheel above the play controls to get the wipe happening from the opposite side.

    Little slow but works fine.

My bad, it just limits you to not sharing project over the database!

Good luck with getting it going.

Pretty sure the Lite version doesn’t allow for database connection??

    Definitely agree! Drives me insane……….

Would be good to have a function similar to flame where you can just drag the node around to link it to other nodes.

    Is it called Lassoo mode?

“Thanks for asking , Rob McLand :)”

Didn’t you out him as a troll?

I played with him too although seems like he had a point even if it was mildly annoying!

I stand by my comments though in those threads of needing a panel (of some sorts) to really get the best from this system.

July 22, 2011 at 2:35 pm in reply to: Resolve 8.0.1 and Resolve Lite available now

Hey Rohit spent the day running Resolve demos at at SMPTE in Sydney today on 8.0.1.
Loads of interest and really really stable well done……….

Most people passing by had some experience of a grading session so colour wise they were savvy, however, the noise reducer and the stabiliser blew everyone away. A few apple colour users loving the colour wheels and thinking of switching now. Comments like ” can’t believe a grading system can do this so well” came up a few times.

AAF export is essential for me I think in the next version or two or three, Post Op Group is Avid heavy and if I make edit changes would be great to export that for the online guys.

  • Looks quite cool!

Would definitely help the guys on set and save them carrying around a tangent wave. Great for when they put the on set colourist in a tight spot or in the back of a truck.

  • Just had a look at the manual, it seems that, if you are seeing the speed change then its a linear speed effect. Not sure what would constitute a motion effect (maybe someone could chime in on that one).
I think the M2 is classed as a “motion” effect in FCP but not necessarily seen that way by Da Vinci.

I have always had to manually resize as any size changes have not been recognised (V7 and before). I just wipe to the offline for framing reference and do it myself.

“THAT’S NOT IN THE MANUAL, IS THERE ANOTHER PLACE THAT WOULD HAVE THESE USEFUL NUGGETS?”

Not that I know of, other than here on this blog, has been trial and error for me and using the cheap/free jobs to establish workflows for paying clients!

Oh, you could try Vimeo. I know Warren Eagles posts some free tips and tricks for Resolve videos via the ICA.

  • I think M2 is a motion event or speed change?
On the old version of Resolve we had to remove those to create a clean edit!
