have your artist import your file and render it back out WITHOUT KEYING.
just simply render it back and import it.
figure out which settings allow for your workflow to preserve the image as closely as possible.This takes whatever is being done during the keying phase out of the equation.

if there is nothing else moving, you can try to place your entire comp in to a new one so its the only layer.
enable time remapping and play with retiming the animation to how you like it

When you’ve had enough of making vines and 2.5d worlds, heres a sample of a more “traditional” style, using a film noir look, a bit of vfx, and some AE magic 😉

typically the space style energy waves are done with a radial ramp where the leading edge is hard and then feathers off to the inner side.
you could play with animating some masks on a solid to get the look you want for the wave, tilt it in 3d space, precompose it, then use that precomp as a matte for leading edge effect ( you can try some displacement, adding in the colored version as another layer with some glow or blur, etc)
you can make a dupe of the precomp, and adjust the masks (delete the inner mask if you used an inner and outer) so they can be used as the matte to bring on the color)most of all, try different things, as thats they only way to see how things might play out.

id use whatever particle effect of your choice to create the comet…
then make a second version where you have the life of the particle be much longer than the original.
set the 2nd version as a trk matte for your type so when the comet flies by, it reveals the type and the longer lifed particles allow the text to be seen in trail. you’d have to play with this layer to get the desired result (maybe the scale of the particles, blurring the layer, etc)

itll probably a fun experiment, especially if you have plenty of “free” time … but i bet you’d be better off buying the cheapest PCs you can find than trying to get that to work right
