What do you mean buffering? like stutter? What formats are both videos?

In your render as window, type 10 in the fps area. I probably says 29.97 and can be dropped down to choose but 10 isnt one of the options, so type it in there.

I just set my preview window to best/full and take a snapshot. But I have heard it’s not the quality of one frame. Just drage the left and righ edges down to just the frame you want, and render a uncopresed AVI. I can’t see the difference though.

Install ten and leave 9 on it. Just so you know, you can’t open a saved project in ten and then reopen it in 9, so just copy all your .veg files to a new folder. In the newly made 10 folder, open with 10 and save each one. You still have the 9 folder if you need to open one in 9. It’s not backward compatible.

You can render avi at ten frames per second,captured at 30p or 29.97. It would look the same as removing 2 of three frames.

If I had to point out Vegas’s downfall, it would be it’s Chromakey pluggin. If I need real convincing keys I use Affter Effects with Keylight, specially with shadows, mainly floor shadows. Watch this video tutorial by Andrew Kramer on shadows. He also has a great one on keylight.

There’s got to be a way to do this vith Vegas, at least with a flat floor. I’ll experiment and see what I can do. Oh yea, You would still have to use magenta back lighting to cancel out the green spill. Come on Sony, give us a good real keyer.

A linear pan only needs two keyframes. Make sure you don’t have more than that. It’s pretty easy to accidently add them.

Yes. But not H.264. I have the Intensity Shuttle and capture component from a Sony HVR-A1 without a tape in it. Once you capture to tape, it’s compressed as m2t. I capture straight from the imager before the compresser. With the Media Express software that comes with the camera, I can capture 1920 x 1080 Motion JPEG avi, or uncompressed 8 and 10 bit avi but need a raid array for those two formats. With Vegas my capture choices are 8 bit YUV AVI and HD 422 .mxf. Both mxf and MJPEG look far better than the m2t via fitewire. Hope this helps, Danny Hays
