Personally I try to get as close to clipping without doing it. I like my music and videos to as loud as possible when people listen. I hate it when my youtube vids are not as loud as the others so I will also add a compressor or limiter before normalizing to get rid of those unwanted peaks that limit the normalize feature. Most music from comercial CDs look like a square wave, to get the volume up.

What’s the problem with the MBOX? Protools should see and use it even with your Windows audio device set to default. Protools won’t even launch without the MBOX connected unless your using Protools 9.

I set my project settings to HD 1080-60i (1920×1080, 29.970 fps) Field order = Progressive, quality = best, deintetlace method = none for slide show HD videos. Just placing them back to back on the timeline, my dual core 3.4 laptop works great with preview set to best / full. Are you using alot of effects? What do you mean gettin slow when project settings are HD, HDV AVCHD. There is no AVCHD project setting. If your talking about rendering that’s different.

I would believe it doesn’t render space between events even with an envelope there, as there is no video data to render. You could easily do some small test renders to see though.

I believe some of that is just clearer video, edited to look bad at first for the show. Soome enhancers can actually add pixels based on adjasent pixels and interpolate what it thinks they should be. They can work to some degree but your tag is very blurry, not enough info in my opinion. I’d like to hear Im wrong and see some one do it though.

If you using component in to your Intensity, then you have to connect the stereo audio from the playstation to the Intensity audio inputs. HDMI has both video and audio. You should see the meters in Media Express moving while previewing and capturing. You need to listed to the audio outputs of the intensity to hear audio if you play them back with Media Express.

Use the event pan/crop to crop both videos to the same size and aspect ratio. Then use the track motion to resize and position them side by side.

Vegas Pro 8 – 10 play my 1080 60p .mts files fine on my i7. I don’t convert mine.

What are the specs of your computer? Have you tried setting the preview window to Preview/auto to get faster framerate when it plays back? This will degrade the preview quality but add speed to the preview and should not effect your render quality. Hope this helps, Danny Hays
