I never check that box. I usualy play my videos from a computer so I always deinterlace 1080i, where DVD and BR players will do it for you. I set my project settings to progressive, bes,t interpolate (if the movement in the video inst to fast.) blend if it is fast. That double image footage will look smoother than interpolated footage.

I can edit AVCHD 1080 60p .mts with my i7 viao laptop. Without effects I can set my preview to best full and it plays VERY smooth. I’m sure effects would change that, but It wasn’t long ago I couldn’t play an HDV 1080i .m2t at best full and get more that 5 frames per second.

Do you have it set to capture 480i NTSC? use component in. Are you using 3 component rca cables for Red Blu and green? Are you connecting the oudio from the computer to the audio inputs of the Intensity rca ins??

Use the event pan and crop to crop the clip, with Maintain aspect ratio checked. (Default) Then use the track motion to resise and position where you want.

It looks like your rendering an interlaced clip as progressive with Method set to blend.

Your downconverting to SD. What are you going to be playing the video on?

Let me rephrase that. I don’t see much improvement using Media Express 3 per the specs with a Shuttle. I see great improvement the Shuttle to capture of an HDV camera from the imager as mjpeg.

Many people use Cineform. Have you tried editing it with an i7? I can edit 1080 60p .mts files with an i7 easily. I built an i7 for about a grand, and just bought a Sony Vaio i7 laptop for $940 that edits AVCHD fantastic.

“Log and capture”,? Like from a tape in an HDV camera? If so, I don’t see the point as it’s already compressed as.m2t HDV. You may as well use firewire to capture. I capture straight from the imager of my HDV camera, bypassing the .m2t compression. I don’t see much improvement with a Shuttle, unless they finally have 1080p60 capture working.
