I get the same results when rendering to mp4 in Vegas. You can add a brightness and contrast effect, experiment until you get the desired results and save it as a preset for future projects.

Proxies like Gearshift makes are standard def videos that you can use to edit on a slower computer. You can also just comvert all the videos in your project to DV widescreen avi, edit, then change your project settings to a custom 1080 60p, replace the DV proxies with your original .mts or .mt2s files and render to a custom 1080 60p format. There are no 1080 60p project presets or render presets in Vegas as of yet, haven’t tried Vegas pro 11 yet. I just make my own custom presets when working with my TM700 .mts files. I recently bought a Sony Vaio i7 laptop for about $900 and can edit the native .mts 60p files fine. Watch this video and see the preview is great. It can play back these files set to best/full and the preview looks like 60p to me. Of course this youtube video isn’t 60p but you can get an idea of what kind of preview framerate you can get with a fast computer.

Yes, I forgot about UpRez, and that plugin works in Vegas. Topaz in a plugin for After Effects and FinalCut, not Vegas.

I just exported a video from FCP, as Quicktime movie, and one using Quicktime conversion, and the Quicktime conversion clip works fine in Vegas.

Have you tried another uncompressed avi about the same length? We need to determine if the file is corrupt about 80% through, or if it’s a system perfomance issue.

Enlarge how much? From SD to HD, no. There are upconverting programs and plugins that can help. The good ones like Topaz look at before and after frames and interpolate what the missing pixels should be.

In order to capture 1080 60p, your camera or other source has to output that. At least my Shuttle works that way. Are you trying to capture from a camera?

CS5 works good, on a Mac or a PC. I don’t use Premier since I’m a Vegas Pro user but I do use After Effects. I capture 1080p60 on a TM700 and Vegas Pro, CS5 Premier and After Effects can edit these native .mts files on my i7 PCs and my i7 Mac mini without any problems what so ever. I’ve tried FCP and Avid and can’t see what the big deal is. I can edit way faster and with more formats and framerates with Vegas.
