If an event isn’t being rendered during the rendering process, it will say no recompression neccesary in the preview window.

The aspect ratio of the shadow shows the light was from the right, just like the light is hitting her, yet she is casting no shadow. That’s why I think she was keyed in. The amount of rotoscoping to make this would take way too long. A little practice with correct lighting and a greenscreen would be easy and WAY faster.

I don’t recall ever being able to see ahead of rendering, which event will need rendering, but when rendering long GOP mpegs to the same exact format, you can have Vegas not re-render the file. Go to option, prefferences and check this window. Let us know if this is what you’re looking for. If there is a way to see before hand I want to know how.

The shadow appears to be real, look where she is half on the plywood, the shadow looks real here. I think they shot the shadow and then shot her in front of a greenscreen and overlayed that onto the shadow clip. Probably didn’t use Vegas’s keyer as it’s not very good, but with perfect lighting, it is posible it can all be done in Vegas.

BM is very specific on the motherboard chipsets it’ll work with. It has to have an X58 or P55 chipset or your out of luck.I use the Asus P6X58-E Pro at work and home and both shuttles work fine. It already has the right USB3 adapter onboard.

If the avi that are causing the problem come from the same camera as ones that worked before, I would just do a system restore to before it started happening.

In order to run the 64 bit version, you must be running windows 64 bit. You are right?

What format are you shooting in? 1080P I hope. Set your project setting to 1080 Progressive, interlace method to none. Render to MP4 1080P and raise the bitrate to the same as the original footage or close, and your results should look very close to the original.

I have yet to see a version of Vegas open a flash file. I just converted one though with this free converter and Vegas opened the avi it made.
