Video fidelity issue after rendering from AVCHD to other formats
Hi,
I just bought a new Sony HDR-CX700V camera (1300 USD) which uses the AVCHD format. Playing the original footage as it is reveals stunning result. However, when I process it with Sony Vegas 9 to, say, add some text or do some editing, the resolution gets obviously lower. It’s as if the take was not shot in HD. I tried several video project properties templates (NTSC, HD, 2k, etc.),several output formats (wmv, mpeg-2, etc.), set the rendering to ‘best’, but still get lower quality! How can I preserve the quality of the original footage? Pretty Please 🙂 -

What format are you shooting in? 1080P I hope. Set your project setting to 1080 Progressive, interlace method to none. Render to MP4 1080P and raise the bitrate to the same as the original footage or close, and your results should look very close to the original.
