I just tried to open it with 12 and got the same unsupported format. Sorry bud. With Steve and I, that’s 11, 12 and 13. If you have any that you have not tried to open with a new version? Before you try to open them all, wait and upload one you haven’t tried. Just in case it’s the “opening them with the newer ver.” is what’s corrupting them.

Are you saying you found some info on the internet on this? If so, please send me a link to it. I just tried loading several wave files into Vegas 13 from an external drive, and the play and look fine. even when I zoom WAY in, the look and sound normal.
If I understand your original post, This didn’t used to happen, right? Same Ver. of Vegas and same external drive, right.If this is the case, I would go to the computer makers or motherboards makers website and find the original USB drivers and reinstall them. If your system is still the same as when it worked, but now it happens with all external drive, It points to the USB drivers. Let us know.

To add screen shot, On the reply window, click the little camera icon, third from the right. click choose file, then click upload. You can see the new file in the top right in blue. click on it and it shows up on the left. copy all the Embed text and paste it in the reply message window. Then when you post it, it will show up.

(Another weird artifact I have noticed, is when I magnify the Waveform (Zooming in) The Waveform changes occasionally in random places.)

When the audio just cuts out, and you zoom in right there, does the waveform go flat? Does it happen to any audio you import into Vegas? Try importing an mp3 and while it’s loading, it’s building waveforms and makes a .sfk file you can see in the same directory as the mp3. Does it happen with just an mp3 or wave file on the timeline? Try closing Vegas and deleting all the .sfk files for the project that has this problem. And opening Vegas and the project again. It will have to remake all the waveforms again. Then before doing anything, zoom in to where the waveform was changing before. What do you get? -
Can you post a screen shot? Try dragging the video to a new track and then move that track to the top.

First of all, OSX doesn’t support the USB3 Shuttle. I assume your mac has a USB3 port. See if this can help.

I just put a default transparent text in a track above the video and it looks fine. Vegas 13. Can you post a screen shot?

Wow Wayne, your right. I never use that since HD space is so cheap now. Here’s a link to AviDemux, a free program. I just used it to split a 1080p 60 fps .mts file successfully. It gives you a preview for accurate splitting.

Does this happen with any mp3? try rendering a .veg file to mp3 and import that. If it still does it, I would uninstall and reinstall Vegas. I have no problem importing mp3s.
