There’s a snap feature that will snap a video right next to another, without a gap. Search the help file for that easy fix. danny

I was experiecncing the same problem, Vegas 9 preview was way worse at any setting that Vegas 8, So I stuck with V8, running on XP. then I loaded V9 on Windows 7 32 bit and it’s drasticlly better. Loaded a m2t file, preview full/best and it almost played real time. Don’t have a 64 bit machine to try that. Danny

Sounds like tour using dv and HDV, Try setting your Project settings to 1440 – 1080 29.97 and set field order to Progressive, De-interlace type – blend for fast moving video, interpolate for slow. Also set your render settings, custom, video tab and select progressive. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Pixel aspect ratio for 1440 – 1080 is 1.333
Try that setting in you project and render settings. Danny -
If their going to be played on laptops only, they dont have to be DVDs. They also limit the resolution to 720 – 480. Try rendering to WMV, 6 Mbps HD 720-30p video. Windows media player playing this full screen will look way better. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Keylight has it’s limits. If you could get your hands on an old copy of Ultra 2 from Serious Magic or Adobe, you can get the results you want. Danny

The TV should have a setting to make it fill the screen, but it you could use a laptop connected with a VGA cable, render as 720p or 1080i WMV and use Media player full screen out to the HDTV, The results will be drasticly bettet. Hope this helps, Danny

1280 x 720 mp4, at the highest bit rate you can with out passing the ten minute, 1gig upload limit. here’s some I uploaded in that format.

I noticed that too. With DV footage, the keyer in Vegas is not usable IMHO. If you put a chroma blur, set to medium before the chromakey plugin in the chain, It really smoothes out the jagged edges. With HDV and good lighting, maybe a magenta backlight,(Since there’s no spill suppresor in Vegas’s keyer) it can work fairly well. I would us Ultra or Keylight for chromakeying anything. Danny

Vaast is great! I have been using Vegas since it was audio only, Ver 1 and 2. I just read the help file, several times, as much of it I didn’t understand the first time through. I also constantly follow this Creative Cow forum. There’s some real experts at the top of the page that can answer pretty much any question you ask. Moooo!!
