You can also open several instances of Vegas, copy and paste from one timeline to another. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

OK, If you have your complete mpg on the timeline, put your curser on the video where you want to cut in and out, press the “s” key for split. select the pieces you dont want and hit delete. Then drag the remaing pieces back together in the order you want them to play in the final video. also if you overlap two pieces, it will create a cross disolve for the amount you have them overlaped. David, The white lines that appear to crawl, are probably interlace lines. Interlaced video is scanned every other field, upper or lower first depending on weather it’s DV or HDV. It scans the odd from top to bottom and scans the even, so if your subject has moved during that small amount of time, you will see the interlacing, kind of like a comb at the edge of fast moving objects. I gather you mean Pinnicale Expres 8 is what you use. Look at their help file and see it it will deinterlace, it’s a pretty common thing but yes Sony Vegas pro does it well. My main reason for wanting progressive is I do alot of chromakeying. Inerlaced doesn’t key well. Blending the fields basicly creates a filed from the before and after frames, so if your hand is passing by fast, and you look at it frame by frame, you will see the created frames where your hand is simi transparent. This makes for smoother looking fast video but doesnt key that well either. Interpolate makes it 30p but each frame is like a picture and will key the best of all the obove. So if your not keying, I would choose blend fields, and your white interlacing lines will be gone.

So far I haven’t read any posts on any forum where the card or Shuttle has captured 1080p. I am capturing 1080i and converting it to 1080p in Sony Vegas, either blending or interpolating the fields. It looks very good. I haven’t experienced the video flashing though.
Still wish it would capture 1080p as was advertised. -
David Cash, Did the media Express software to install? I think even with the pcie card, you still need an x58 or 955 chipset motherboard for it to work.
Also I have not ben able to capture 1080p from component or hdmi, at any framerate yet. I haven’t seen an Intensity Pro pcie or Shuttle post on any forum where someone has. I know the source has to be that if you want to capture it. I put a 1080 30P video on a server at work and cannot capture it via HDMI from Media Express as 1080P.
Has anyone gotten either Intensity Pro card or Shuttle to capture 1080p, at any framerate yet? -
Sorry. You need an I7 X58 or P55 chipset motherboard with USB 3. Asus and Gigabyte make a MB that works with the Shuttle. I would research this before you buy any motherboards to use with the Shuttle. I’m using one at home ant one at work. There are some firmware and software updates that are also needed for using the shuttle. I have the Asus p6x58d- premium board. It has USB 3 and will work great with the Shuttle. .mov files will need Quicktime installed. I would try that first. Not sure with Movie Studio 9, but Vegas pro needs it for mov files. I would try that first before converting, (one extra quality loosing conversion)you don’t need. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Are the Intensity drivers installed? Do you have a motherboard with an x58 chipset? Can you capture anything with the card? Your hdmi capture settings have to match your hdmi source in order for it to work. More information would help with answers. Danny Hays

Sorry for the delay, Yes, I just played an .mov file in Vegas Pro 9 and used my Intensity Shuttle as a secondary monitor through the HDMI out of the Shuttle. So any format Vegas plays will show up on your HDMI out of the Shuttle, so you could use it as a full screen display on your HDTV with two monitors on the side. If all your wanting is a third monitor, then another video card would work. The Intensity offers much more than that. Capture from analog component HD, composite, s video, HDMI, even sraight from the imager of most HDV camcorders, bypassing the m2t compression and using the Blackmagic motion jpeg, or even 8 and 10 bit uncompressed format, if you have a fast enough raid aray for the uncompresed formats. Using track motion for a track WILL effect every video event on that track. Using another track is the way to do what you want. Event pan and crop only effects that event but you can’t move it around like your asking. I did a video for Universal Orlando and Hollywoods T23D Preshow attractions where I used over thirty tracks, even though it could have been done with alot less, it would have taken alot of keyframing with very accurate timing. I found it much easier to just use another track so I didn’t have to worry about previous events moving on me. There’s no real limit to how many tracks you can use except by the processing power of your computer. I know it may be unusual, at least with other NLEs but i’ve read in forums where people have used over 100 tracks in Sony Vegas. I found it to be alot easier workflow than to have to keyframe each event for the smallest size change. Hope this helps, Danny Hays
