    Hello people,
I need to solve a problem with sony vegas and track motion. I’ll try to explain the problem (English is not my first language).
I’m making a video and I have the main track level where the majority part of it take place.
Then a second track level where I put some clips that I want to add to the first one using track motion.
Now I did that once, when I do it again with another clip, I change the clips with track motion (like make them just half screen or a little square moving around and stuff like that) BUT, if I do that, the whole clips before change, it’s like I track motion the whole thing. So I have to add a new level and put the clips in this level so that when I use track motion the part of video before doesn’t change.
It’s fine if I do that twice but if I need to do that like 3 o 4 times, I can’t add everytime new track levels. It gets all chaotic
Is there a way to use track motion in the same track without changing all the parts before? I even tried with the markers but they work once on that clip, if I add a new clip one minute later and do track motion even putting the marker from one point to another, the whole part before the minute changes like it all get track motioned..
    Help anyone?

    Thanks a lot

Using track motion for a track WILL effect every video event on that track. Using another track is the way to do what you want. Event pan and crop only effects that event but you can’t move it around like your asking. I did a video for Universal Orlando and Hollywoods T23D Preshow attractions where I used over thirty tracks, even though it could have been done with alot less, it would have taken alot of keyframing with very accurate timing. I found it much easier to just use another track so I didn’t have to worry about previous events moving on me. There’s no real limit to how many tracks you can use except by the processing power of your computer. I know it may be unusual, at least with other NLEs but i’ve read in forums where people have used over 100 tracks in Sony Vegas. I found it to be alot easier workflow than to have to keyframe each event for the smallest size change. Hope this helps, Danny Hays
